Prices depend on the actual fence and site: height, posts and base, ground, gates, removal, access, delivery, tools, travel and VAT, if it applies. Kieran checks the work and current costs before giving a written price.

Materials and system

Panel, feather edge, composite and post-and-rail systems use different components. Make sure the quote names the posts, gravel boards, rails, fixings and finish.

Labour and site

Length is only one part. Ground, slopes, carrying distance, existing concrete, gates and safe access affect the time and tools needed.

Complete written quote

Ask what is included for delivery, hire equipment, removal and disposal, travel, VAT, if it applies, payment stages and the five-year workmanship promise.

Planning example, not a universal average: Kieran often sees a single back-garden run around 36ft (about 11m, or six 6ft sections). Your own boundary may be shorter, longer or include several separate runs.

A section is the span between posts, but the damage may also involve posts, a gravel board, footing, fixings or disposal. Tell us what is affected and share photos for a like-for-like written quote.

No fixed replacement rate is published.Panel-only work and a full post-and-board replacement are different jobs. Access, ground and removal need checking before a price can be agreed.

Material choice

Timber is often the flexible starting point. Composite can cost more up front but reduce routine painting. Concrete posts and gravel boards add weight, protection and cost.

Labour and access

Slopes, hard ground, steps, narrow carries, awkward corners and longer travel can move the installation outside a simple per-metre guide.
